For Sunday Rose, growing up alongside one of Hollywood’s most celebrated actresses meant creativity was always part of everyday life.
The 17-year-old, daughter of Nicole Kidman and country music star Keith Urban, recently appeared on the cover of Elle Australia’s March issue. In the interview, she shared how accompanying her mother to photoshoots when she was younger sparked a lasting interest in fashion and modelling.
“I definitely gained a lot of interest from those experiences, especially being privileged enough to experience them at a young age,” she said.
Sunday Rose described Kidman not only as a role model, but also as the person who continues to guide many of her decisions today.
“My mum is someone who has always been so creative and my biggest inspiration in life,” she said, adding that the Oscar-winning actress remains “a key part of everything I do”.
Among the advice she has received from her mother, one lesson stands out in particular: punctuality.
“The biggest piece of industry advice Mum has given me is to always be on time,” she said.
“There’s always going to be something with an early call time that you don’t want to get up for, but it’s really important to be on time because it shows that you’re prepared and grateful to be there.”
Sunday Rose has already begun building a presence in the fashion world. She made her runway debut at Miu Miu’s Spring/Summer 2025 show during Paris Fashion Week in October 2024.
She later appeared in the brand’s campaign the following January and went on to land her first fashion magazine cover for Nylon in August 2025.
Despite forging her own path, Sunday Rose admits she still takes plenty of style inspiration from home.
“I take everything from my mum’s closet,” she joked in a previous interview. “Sometimes I tell her it’s my favourite store.”
Her comments about Kidman come shortly after the actress finalised her divorce from Urban earlier this year following 19 years of marriage.
Under the agreement, Sunday Rose and her younger sister Faith Margaret spend most of their time with Kidman, while the country star sees them on alternate weekends.
Despite the changes, sources close to the family say Kidman remains focused on her daughters. In a recent New Year’s post on Instagram, she shared a photo of the three of them watching fireworks together, writing simply: “Looking forward into 2026.”
