Kate Middleton reveals how she navigates 'hard conversations' with George, Charlotte and Louis
Kate Middleton has opened up about how she approaches “hard conversations” with her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, revealing that films often help start meaningful discussions at home.
The Princess of Wales shared the insight while attending the EE BAFTA Film Awards in London alongside Prince William.
During the event, BAFTA film committee chair Emily Stillman recalled meeting Kate during her 2013 visit to the Harry Potter set at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, when she was expecting Prince George.
Reflecting on family life today, the royal mother revealed that her children are beginning to show a growing interest in cinema and the filmmaking process.
“I was saying how much the children would love to look around. They love the idea of going behind the scenes and finding out how it all happens,” she said.

According to Kate, that curiosity has naturally led to more open conversations at home.
“The children are starting to get interested in films, and it’s a really great way to have some of the hard conversations with them,” she added.
Prince William, who serves as president of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, has long been connected to the annual film awards.
In 2021, the Prince William BAFTA Bursary programme was introduced to support young creatives from underrepresented backgrounds pursuing careers in the arts.
The Prince and Princess of Wales’ appearance at the ceremony marked their first public outing following recent royal headlines. While walking the red carpet, William admitted he had not yet watched one of the evening’s talked-about films, explaining that he wanted to be in a “calm mood” before seeing it.
