Why gentle care matters beyond the first year

A new campaign reminds parents that while children grow up, the love and care they need never really changes.

Parents have a funny way of measuring time. While the rest of the world counts birthdays, mums and dads often remember their children in months.

Every month marks a new milestone, from first baths and first steps to first words and first adventures.

Yet no matter how much children grow, one thing never changes: they will always be their parents’ baby.

That enduring parent-child bond is at the heart of Johnson’s baby’s latest campaign, #SelamanyaSiManjaAnda, which celebrates the idea that children remain precious to their parents long after infancy.

The campaign also marks the brand’s biggest relaunch in recent years, introducing upgraded product ranges designed to support babies and toddlers as they continue to grow.

Many parents assume that once a child is past their first birthday, they no longer require specialised baby care products.

However, a baby’s skin and hair remain delicate well beyond infancy. According to Johnson’s baby, a child’s skin is around 30 per cent thinner than an adult’s and can be more sensitive to irritants as they grow and explore the world around them.

To address these needs, Johnson’s baby has refreshed its Classics, Milk + Rice and Bedtime ranges with formulations designed to provide gentle care beyond the first 12 months.

The updated products feature pH-balanced and hypoallergenic formulas and are free from added sulfates, parabens and dyes.

“As babies grow, their skin and hair are still delicate and require gentle, safe yet effective care,” said Kenvue Malaysia & Singapore Head of Marketing, Frances Anne Velante.

“Through this meaningful relaunch, we want to reassure parents that Johnson’s baby continues to evolve alongside their growing children, with carefully developed formulations that support gentle care every step of the way.”

The relaunch event brought the campaign’s message to life through a series of family-focused experiences.

Parents were invited to write heartfelt messages at the “A Letter to My Baby” station, while the “Precious Bedtime” experience highlighted the importance of comforting nighttime routines.

Celebrity mothers Siti Saleha and Pauline Tan joined consultant paediatrician Dr Nisa Khalil for a discussion on child development and the importance of continuing gentle care as children grow.

Childhood may move quickly, but the love and care that parents give their children never really have an expiry date. Whether they are taking their first steps or heading off to preschool, children will always remain, in their parents’ eyes, their little baby.
